How Billing Works

TypeBoost uses a simple character-based billing system.
Whether you're on the free plan or a paid subscription, you use character credits every time you boost text.

Free Plan

New users get a one-time bundle of 50,000 free character credits when signing up.
You can use them at your own pace – they don’t expire.

Once your free characters are used up, you'll need to upgrade to a paid plan to continue boosting text.

If you're on a paid plan, you receive a monthly allowance of character credits.
Each month, your credit balance is reset according to your subscription.

What Counts as a Character?

Every time you use a prompt, TypeBoost counts the non-whitespace characters from three things:

  1. Prompt content – All system, user, and AI messages stored in your prompt
  2. Selected input – The text you selected to boost
  3. AI output – The enhanced result returned by the AI

Whitespace like spaces, tabs, and line breaks do not count.

Deducting Credits

TypeBoost adds up the characters from your prompt + input + output and subtracts that total from your remaining monthly (or free) credits.

You’ll see your remaining character balance in your account settings.

What Happens When You Run Out?

If your credits run out:

  • On the Free Plan → You’ll be asked to upgrade before using Boosts again.
  • On a Paid Plan → You can upgrade to a higher tier for more characters, or wait until the next month when your credits renew.
