First Launch & Sign In

🖱️ Opening TypeBoost for the First Time

After moving TypeBoost to your Applications folder, double-click TypeBoost.app to open it.

💡 macOS might show a message like: “TypeBoost is an app downloaded from the internet. Are you sure you want to open it?” Just click Open – you’ll only see this once.

🔐 Sign In or Create an Account

When you open the app, you'll see a login window with two options:

  • Already have created an account? Click Login
  • New to TypeBoost? Click Create Account
TypeBoost sign in dialog

Your default browser will open to complete the process.

You can sign in or sign up using:

  • 📧 Email & password
  • 🔐 Google
  • 🐙 GitHub

✉️ If you sign up with email & password, we’ll send you a verification email. Please click the link in that email before using TypeBoost—it’s required for activation.

After successful login or signup, you'll be automatically returned to the app.

✅ You're In!

Once you're verified and signed in:

  • The login window will close automatically.
  • TypeBoost now runs quietly in your menu bar (top right corner).
  • No subscription is needed to get started—you can use the app immediately with free trial credits.

🛡️ Required Permissions

The first time TypeBoost runs, macOS will ask you to grant two permissions:

  1. Automation of System Events
  2. Accessibility Access

✅ Please allow both — they’re required for TypeBoost to:

  • Detect selected text in other apps
  • Re-insert improved text back where you were working

Without these permissions, TypeBoost can’t interact with your other apps — which is kind of the whole point 😉

macOS will guide you to System Settings when needed. If you accidentally deny access, don’t worry — you can grant it later in:

System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility / Automation
