⌨️ Set Your Shortcut

TypeBoost works best when you can launch it instantly, no matter what app you're in. That’s why it uses a global shortcut.

🔍 What’s a Global Shortcut?

A global shortcut is a key combination (like Ctrl + Space) that works from anywhere on your Mac – even when other apps are in focus. It’s how you open TypeBoost without switching windows.

💡 Think of it as your personal “boost” button.

⚙️ How to Set or Change Your Shortcut

  1. Click the TypeBoost icon in your menu bar. Check out Where is TypeBoost? if you don't see it.
  2. Choose Settings from the dropdown menu.
  3. Navigate to the Shortcuts tab.
  4. Choose one of the pre-defined shortcuts or click Use a custom shortcut and type in your own (e.g. Cmd + Shift + T).
  5. That’s it – TypeBoost will now launch with your new shortcut.

✅ Tips for Picking a Good Shortcut

  • Use a key combo that’s easy to reach, but not one you use all the time.

  • Avoid shortcuts that other apps might use (like Cmd + C, Cmd + Tab, etc).

  • We recommend something like:

    • Ctrl + Space
    • Cmd + Shift + T
    • Alt + S

⚠️ If the shortcut doesn’t seem to work, another app might already be using it. Just try a different one.
